James 5:20
There was a woman who, for a time, attended many of our street meetings. Then, under one particular message, the Lord was pleased to awaken her conscience concerning a sin she had long concealed. With much grief she confessed that, for eight years since she was in college, she had lived secretly with a man to whom she was not married. For years she had sought to quiet the accusations of conscience for the sake of the flesh, covering what she knew to be wrong beneath an outward profession of religion. Long hath she professed faith in Christ, whilst the man did not; yet he provided abundantly for her needs, and by these comforts persuaded her to remain. Thus what conscience condemned, convenience continually supplied with reasons to continue in sin. But when the Lord broke through those excuses, she could no longer remain as she was. She confessed of her deception to her parents, which straightway forgave her, and immediately severed the relationship, and forsook that which for eight grievous years she had desperately tried to reconcile with her profession of Christ.

It hath now been almost a year, and there hath been a marked change in both her manner of life and her discipline. Before, while conviction continually gnawed upon her conscience, she was often angry, aloof, and defensive, fighting to resist that truth which would not leave her in peace. But through the preaching of the Word the burden was lifted, and she hath continued to walk according to the truth of that profession she makes in Him.
This resolution was left untried. Another man afterward sought to entice her into an unlawful relationship, displaying his wealth as though earthly provision might purchase her affections. But she refused him at once. What had once held her for eight years could no longer persuade her. She was resolved, whatever the cost, to walk before her covenant Lord in spirit and in truth.
Let him know, that he which converteth the sinner from the error of his way shall save a soul from death, and shall hide a multitude of sins.
James 5:20
We do not claim ownership of outcomes, we can only pray that her repentance may endure unto the end, and that she may commit the remainder of her days into the hands of that gracious Lord who purchased her with His own blood.
