First Journal Entry for October

Journal Entry. Evening. 6th of October. 2025 My thoughts are continually exercised and greatly afflicted by the remembrance of the street meeting we were constrained to forego by reason of my current ailment. My spirit finds itself in a sincere and arduous wrestling with the conviction that but a single public assembly per week may fail to bear the abundant fruit that the Lord desires. The soil is hard-packed, and the seeds must be scattered often and with great persistence! A particular thought hath now come clearly into view, one that aligns with a burden the Lord hath been impressing upon my heart for many weeks. Yet I am careful not to run ahead in my own strength, lest I make a rash commitment apart from His leading and enablement. For now, I wait upon the Lord, seeking clearer direction and the assurance of His blessing upon the matter. Whitefield's activities in Scotland supply further evidence of the carefulness with which he planned his work of preaching. His first three w...

The LORD's Mercies

Book Study. 26th of June. 2021   Your near and dear mercies were first the LORD's before they were yours - and always the LORD's more than they were yours. When God gives mercy, he does not relinquish His own right in that mercy. 1 Chronicles 29.14 Everything comes from You, and we have given You only what comes from Your hand. The sweet of mercy is yours, but the sovereign right to dispose of your mercies is the LORD's. Whatever you are, you owe to Him who made you; and whatever you have, you owe to Him who redeemed you. You say it is but just and reasonable that men should do with their own as they please, and is it not just and reasonable that God, who is LORD paramount, should do with His own as He pleases? Do you believe that the great God may do in heaven as He pleases? And on the seas what He pleases? And on the nations and kingdoms of the world what He pleases? And do you not believe that God may do in your house what He pleases, and do with your mercies what He ple...

Public Pleading. Fortune market, Marilao.

Journal Entry. 20th of June, 2020. My steady growing disdain for Facebook came to such a high last week that I once again decided to deactivate it. I have long been wanting to cut off this particular platform and focus instead on Fairsunshine, but my status as admin of our lineage's group held me. Currently, I found another to look after the page, so I will see how long I can hold off logging in before I finally delete the account forever. I learn nothing new from the posts which seem to repeat itself over and over again, it is fast becoming a sort of theological source for most, and a haven for attention seekers and opinionated boastings. Ultimately for me, it is painful to see brethren who should have been lights in the world, being shallow with the world for all to see. A biblical post has almost no weight against a post about something so trivial as an updated profile picture. It is both strange and not, that my unbelieving contacts are the ones who notice my absence, and encou...

Return To Marilao

The scheduled Tuesday outreach was moved a day later to accommodate a brother who wanted to join us in public proclamation. And it was for our good. How refreshing it is to hear the gospel spoken by another. It is always pleasant when brethren dwell together in unity (Psalms 133:1) . Jhet was recently enabled by the Spirit to understand the doctrines of grace. He and Jordan started in the same ministry years ago, however steeped in doctrinal error. And when it pleased God to open Jordan's understanding to His sovereignty, Jhet became his opposition. But now he also has been enabled to understand the truth about God's person, and if He is willing, we will labor in the LORD's vineyard together from hereon.       The tricycle drivers and vendors comprised our audience today. Not only were they attentive, but they welcomed the tracts cheerfully, and came back to ask for their co-workers as well. My stash was gone even before it was my turn to speak, and the few bi...

Public Reading of Scripture

Image
Deliver those being taken away to death, and hold back those slipping to the slaughter. If you say, “But we did not know about this,” does not the one who evaluates hearts consider? Does not the one who guards your life know? Will he not repay each person according to his deeds? Proverbs 24:11-12   It is most appropriate to begin public proclamation with scripture. Only then does preaching follow after. People need to hear God's word, not my opinion. Always after reading am I assisted mightily in power and in spirit. I have, in the course of my meager experience, compiled different portions of scripture that present the gospel in a linear fashion, so that it forms a singular paragraph and a consistent train of thought. Reading it alone is equivalent to preaching. If you have been given the heart to take the gospel to the lost but are afraid of preaching, I highly encourage you to read scripture. Anyone who can read can do this. If you want to kill the flesh, reading sc...

Deliver those being taken away to death, and hold back those slipping to the slaughter. If you say, “But we did not know about this,” does not the one who evaluates hearts consider? Does not the one who guards your life know? Will he not repay each person according to his deeds? Proverbs 24:11-12     God hath in His mercy enabled us once again to step out in spite of the ongoing virus scare, to which we see a great opportunity to present Christ to the people, seeing they are at a more sober mind at this time, and are apt to be more receptive to our message. There were no large crowds, but the establishments across us, and the tricycle terminal behind us, which always has people, served as our audience. My brother pastor and I rode on our scooters, accompanied by brother Ronnie from Ilas, and my dear wife. We were assisted with the word and with power. The parlor in front of us visibly agitated by the severity of the gospel. We began past five and before we knew, i...
