Tina's Prayer

Image
He who dwells in the shelter of the Most High will abide in the shadow of the Almighty.  Psalm 91:1  Proverbs 31 An excellent wife who can find? She is far more precious than jewels. The heart of her husband trusts in her, and he will have no lack of gain. She does him good, and not harm, all the days of her life. She seeks wool and flax, and works with willing hands. She is like the ships of the merchant; she brings her food from afar. She rises while it is yet night and provides food for her household and portions for her maidens. She considers a field and buys it; with the fruit of her hands she plants a vineyard. She dresses herself with strength and makes her arms strong. She perceives that her merchandise is profitable. Her lamp does not go out at night. She puts her hands to the distaff, and her hands hold the spindle. She opens her hand to the poor and reaches out her hands to the needy. She is not afraid of snow for her household, for all her household are clothed in scarlet.

Worship

The worship of God has become our primary purpose in this small body. All else in the ministry stems from this very yearning. Since we began  months ago every night has been a remembrance of God's unfailing goodness and faithfulness, worthy of our meager praise. I for one have benefited greatly from this gracious gift. I pray the children do too. It is one that I am privileged to enjoy with the beloved brethren and sisters. Within the church of Christ, the mutual ministry of gifts moves constantly to the pulse-beat of the life of the Spirit. The body grows through the organic interdependence of each part. From the one Head, Christ, all the body “fitly framed and knit together through that which every joint supplieth, according to the working in due measure of each several part,” builds itself up in love (Eph. 4:16). That means that you cannot grow without ministering to others and receiving the ministry of others.   Clowney, Edmund P.. Called to the Ministry (p. 36). P&R Publis

Spurgeon Set

What more can be said? Except that God is more than gracious in providing the means for His work. When he gives, He calls. When He calls, He gives. This is a welcome addition to the already growing library which has now overgrown the custom shelves I built, making me consider building a second library.

Provisions For The Children

Image
Father has provided us the means to purchase bibles in our pursuit of putting His word in the hands of the children, to be distributed freely, and teach them the habit of opening the scriptures, not just listening to it read to them. To familiarize them with stories from both testaments and show how Christ is pointed at in the old, and fulfilled in the new, and that He can be seen in every story; how Christ is "written in the volume of the book," and inculcate the truths of God by way of catechism questions and answers. The end of every class is great encouragement to us in this work. Each one can recite the 10 commandments at will, but it will require God's grace to give it life in them, to be understood, and eventually lived out. This we thank God for and plead His hand.

Keil- Delitzsch Commentary on the Old Testament

Image
I have been patiently waiting on the LORD to get a hold of this blessed set for some months now to help in my Hebrew and Greek studies. This particular commentary excels in using the original languages providing a wider scope supplementing the other commentaries in my library. "Carl Friedrich Keil and Franz Delitzsch were Nineteenth-century theologians from a German protestant background. They compiled one of the most comprehensive and extensive commentaries on the Old Testament. Their work in the 1800s is still held in high regard throughout theological circles for its meticulous and sound doctrinal commentary. Their work examines the historical and grammatical aspects of the entire Old Testament in Hebrew in their original context so you can easily follow the textual analysis of its intended meaning in its original language."
