I am blessed to commend the advancement of the Gospel through the saints at Reformed Presbyterian Church Dumaguete led by Pastor Nate Sonner. Praise God. Jesus Christ is Lord.

God's Work in Dumaguete

Image
M ay the Lord’s work in Dumaguete flourish through His redeemed saints who have taken a stand to bear the witness of the Gospel of Jesus Christ before the public. We share deeply in their joy, joining our spirits with them and all those who stand to proclaim the everlasting glories of Christ Jesus and the sure, righteous judgments of God against all sin and rebellion. There is a holy satisfaction in the public declaration of the testimony of the cross, the only refuge for the lost. As they stand before the public, let their hearts be strengthened by the knowledge that to partake in His suffering is to eventually partake in His glory. May the Spirit grant them a boldness that is tempered with humility and a persistence that remains unfazed by opposition. May the blessings of the Lord manifest in their obedience as they willingly share in His humiliation, advancing by nothing but in the power of the Holy Spirit. First Journal Entry for October

Image
Journal Entry. Evening. 6th of October. 2025 My thoughts are continually exercised and greatly afflicted by the remembrance of the street meeting we were constrained to forego by reason of my current ailment. My spirit finds itself in a sincere and arduous wrestling with the conviction that but a single public assembly per week may fail to bear the abundant fruit that the Lord desires. The soil is hard-packed, and the seeds must be scattered often and with great persistence! A particular thought hath now come clearly into view, one that aligns with a burden the Lord hath been impressing upon my heart for many weeks. Yet I am careful not to run ahead in my own strength, lest I make a rash commitment apart from His leading and enablement. For now, I wait upon the Lord, seeking clearer direction and the assurance of His blessing upon the matter. Whitefield's activities in Scotland supply further evidence of the carefulness with which he planned his work of preaching. His first three w...

Dumaguete - Ending

Image
As we made our weary journey homeward, the Lord guided our steps to visit a dear brother in Quezon City, who is currently passing through a most difficult and trying chapter of his pilgrimage. His physical frame is sorely vexed, having wrestled these many months with a severe affliction of the back—a pain so sharp and persistent that even the simplest motions are rendered excruciating to him. Yet, this trial is compounded by a heavier concern: he is now facing the disheartening prospect of being stripped of his earthly livelihood, for his body can no longer sustain the demands of his daily employ. His strength doth fail him for his duties. May the God of all comfort minister to his body, sustain his spirit amidst this double chastisement, and show him that even this crucible of affliction is measured out by the hand of the Sovereign Physician for the eternal profit of his soul! Photo by K The visit was, alas, of brief duration, yet it afforded us the cherished opportunity to share a si...

Dumaguete - Beginning

Image
This would be the first post of a very long backlog that I hope to fill after nine months of not blogging. Since my last post in August, a lot has happened, the majority of which has been related to daily Family Worship. Being overwhelmed and exhausted was what took up the greater part of the missing time. As things begin to wind down, I will try again to resume documenting from where I left off. Sometime in December last (if my failing memory serves its duty), I received a casual invitation from Pastor Nate Sonner of the Reformed Presbyterian Church in Dumaguete. The invitation concerned a conference upon the matter of planting biblical and reformed churches, scheduled for the nineteenth day of May, with Dr. Al Baker of Vanguard Presbytery as the designated speaker. I confess I did not initially ponder the matter deeply, yet I went forth in simple faith and extended the invitation to several of the brethren in our gathering. Immediately, a plan was hatched: we began the consistent,...
