FAIR SUNSHINE

It was a great day as we gather with fellow believers in sharing a meal, followed by an afternoon study continuing on our Hebrews series. This particular session had with it a heavier tone as the Spirit provoked upon each of us a response to the urgent question of the gospel.This week we are finally joined by Aaron who gathered with us for a whole year while he was still in the US, and now was enabled by the grace of God to stay and live with us for a while. Last night also, a great door was opened: we were privileged to hold a foundational study of the law for two precious daughters of the Most High God, whom He brought to us just this month, to care for in our prayers. May the LORD bring forth fruit unto His glory in the lives of His redeemed. Since leaving the membership of our previous fellowship, the LORD has enlarged our horizons and opened new doors. Doors that we would have missed, had we not followed His leading, and stayed for wrong reasons. May it please the LORD to sear us

When it comes to the subject of money, in the church, everyone is divided and has their own take about it. Discussing it makes everyone unconsciously put their hands suddenly on their wallets with caution, "I can listen to the pastor talk about money but I hope he only refers to other people's money, not mine" . Filipinos have this warped selfish mentality that relatives who manage to go to other countries are obligated to send them money or boxes full of things, and they being here, are only entitled to receive. "They are rich, we are poor. So only the rich should give." I cannot remember the last time hearing of any local family sending balikbayan boxes to relatives abroad. The true Christian walk is on a different plane when it comes to earthly possessions. Believers are quick to admit that their time on earth is passing, but then again they cling to wealth as if it means everything.  Personal faith is often tested when it comes to the subject of money. I have learned in the distant past to settle it once and forever in my mind, that I was never and will never be worthy to become a herald of the glorious gospel. There are many days that the urge to go out is so strong, and there are also many days when the flesh does not feel like it. Compliance does not rest on the capacity of the servant but on the urgency and gravity of the command. Do I love doing this? With all my soul, yes. Do I always feel up to it? With all my heart, no. Does that mean I am therefore forced to do it? No. God is witness to my answer. What does serving a good God make me? Serving him makes me a highly privileged and thankful servant. I ask only that Father grant me the power to show how beautiful Christ is to everyone He sends me in the simplest but most radiant way I am enabled to. The neighbors were having a singing party for two days, prompting us to vacate our usual spot and gather out in the open fields, which turned out to be a very beautiful experience instead. We are on our third installment on the book of Hebrews. The first three verses of the first chapter wondrously yielded an immense treasure of fresh revelation that left us all in awe of who Christ is from God's own point of view. We can barely fathom the deepness and grievous weight of God's revelations from just these three verses alone. Glory, for the days allotted unto us in the days to come to sit before Him in awe, with hearts bowed low ( Psalms 33.8) and mouths wide open. (Psalms 81.10) The weight of the previous overnight watch helped prepare us to receive this afternoon's message. We were joined by new listeners in this session, and besides that, the LORD added two other precious souls to our small but deepening fellowship. May it please God to continuously have mercy on me.

Father has rewarded us with many stories of His providence and protection to fill in our times of get together at home. My daughter Moureen got to spend the day with us in preparation for tonight's scheduled overnight watch. In the fast approaching days of evil, true believers in Christ will make a stand - on their knees. That is the way it has always been and it is an indescribably great privilege.

We launch into an extensive series study on the letter to the Hebrews. This endeavor might take us 6 months or so to complete but already session 1 and 2 has yielded a vast treasure trove of knowledge for me, the LORD further expanding my horizons in awe of Him. I cannot get over, and thoroughly enjoyed reflecting on the fact that Jesus, after finishing the work on the cross, sat down. ..when he had by himself purged our sins, sat down on the right hand of the Majesty on high. Hebrews 1:3 It struck me to realize there were no seats for the priests who offered sacrifices day in day out in the tabernacle in the wilderness. That was because there was a continuous need to sacrifice daily, first, for the personal sins of each individual priest (7:27) and only then can they sacrifice for each citizen who brought in a sin offering.
