Bagong Silang

Caloocan border. This is a heavily congested place. The authorities were very stern in turning away everyone who was not scheduled to do their market today. There was a military presence on every corner. I noticed all the people had their large tags visibly dangling for ready inspection. So I asked the fellow beside me if the quarantine pass was needed. "Of course. They take anyone who has no pass immediately to the precinct." Upon hearing this I realized I may have been the only one there who had no pass. I felt special. Having walked around the place as I gave away tracts even to the military and the authorities, I came back to where I parked close by. It doesn't look like distancing was enforced, you just need to have the face props. I approached the enforcers and politely asked the team leader if it was possible for me to read the bible on the corner without having a pass. Mumbling something incoherent about having no quarantine pass as illegal, he then p

The Simple Ones

Image
I have never had any trouble handing out tracts to simple folk. They even chase after me for one after I pass them by. The only thing good about an errand that requires me to wait in line for three hours was that I was able to make rounds during the lull. That errand was a dead end for me when I finally reached the counter and was denied my inquiry, but the better work had already been accomplished.

My Weapon of Warfare

The 28th of April will mark the second full month of God's faithfulness to our daily online bible class. We will finally be uploading each session on The Kletos podcast on a weekly basis for the benefit of the saints. Meanwhile this is a repost. As requested:  By no means does this earn me anything, it is rather an outward raiment of an oft disposition; a state of the soul at war with the flesh. My foreboding lack and total helplessness always driving me deeper into the soil of Calvary where the puddle of blood still is. That crimson pool fed by the fountain of blood drawn from Emmanuel's veins. I would lay there on the cold floor and would wish to stay forever, afraid of the sin crouching just outside my door. Of truth, the safest place on this earth is at the foot of the cross. There must be something about those penitent kings of old who would spend long nights and weeks in this. I would lay there till I fall asleep. Never has it been said anywhere that God keep

Everything God Does Is Good

Man is a perpetual slave. Either as a condemned slave to sin, or as a redeemed slave to the perfect Master. One damns him, the other infinitely loves him. The word 'redeemed" is an even amazing word when viewed in light of Christ's work. Think on this truth: you can only redeem what you originally own.    Christ redeemed me, because He owns me, even before the foundation of the world. Rejoice O my soul. Taste and see that the LORD is good. His mercy endures forever.

The Greater Part

Image
Not only did Christ die for us, His beloved, He died for God's glory. Not only did Christ pay the penalty for our sins, He took away our guilt. Not only did Christ redeem us as His own, He shares His inheritance with us. God's love for Him, His love for the Father, is the same love He intimates to us, His people. He gave us life, He adopted us into His family, He pronounced us NOT GUILTY, He imputed His righteousness to us, He reconciled us to His Father, He satisfied His Father's demand for justice on behalf of us, He sanctifies us with His own Spirit, and with the same power that He raised Himself from the dead He will glorify us with in the end. What greater love therefore hath God revealed to us than to give us the gift of knowing and worshiping Him? Truly, the very nature of God obliges Him to administer justice and sentence sin to death, thereby upholding the integrity of His just character. What He was not obliged to do was to show mercy to me. Justice was a necessar

By The Grace of God

The LORD was pleased to bless us for the last two months in our recently concluded study on the subject of salvation, with an extra week review of our previous topics on its eight major doctrines. The open and interactive class is an hour's worth of daily discussions in the evenings. Five souls have been added under our care online. May the LORD count me faithful to endure for His name's sake and for His saints.         We have begun a new study in discovering the true biblical gospel. This study is lifted in part from the HeartCry Missionary Society's workbook, wherein it centers on the revelation of the fullness of God as the divine purpose for everything that is. It is crucial for the serious believer to know who he is before God, who God is as He has revealed Himself in sacred scripture, what God has done for him through the cross of Christ, and how God is accomplishing His will in the believer's sanctification by the power of His Spirit. It is evident both

Adapting

There have been threats circulating around that there are people who want to report the church to the authorities. It is good to know that certain envious culprits who are actually in a cult took notice. Churches in our area (and all over) have closed down in conformity to the ongoing circus. Our zealous youth teachers merely found a more discreet location. The LORD's work continues.

Holy Week

Image
Our desire was to plead at the yearly pilgrimage of faithful devotees to Grotto. Holy Week in the Philippines is a major holiday where throngs of people walk, some for more than 45 kilometers away, to Grotto Shrine - a 56 year old religious site dedicated to Semiramis, or more commonly known as Mary (not the biblical Mary) . But it was not to be. There were major festivities at the start of the year that has been missed due to the ongoing circus act of this 'deadly virus' falsely so-called, one of which was the Nazareno - a huge festivity of another dead wood that opens a great door for the gospel to be mightily heard. Today being the day supposedly commemorating the washing of the apostles' feet, we were not expecting a great turn out, but we were pleasantly proven wrong. The market place here in Meycauayan (15 kilometers away) was very much packed, perhaps anticipating little or no commerce in the remainder of this week and so this may explain the cramming going on.
