Everyone Dies. But Not Everyone Lives After.

the soul who sins shall die. Ezekiel 18:4 M y uncle passed shortly after midday today, becoming the fifth among those who helped raise me now taken away by death. Three of his sisters yet remain, though one also walks beneath the affliction of cancer. First departed my grandmother, then my grandfather, afterward the eldest daughter, my aunt, then my father, and now today my uncle also hath gone. What weighed most heavily upon my spirit was not merely the succession of deaths themselves, but the fearful consideration that they all passed, so far as the truth of God's word declares, outside the saving grace of God. I found myself pausing in silence, striving to comprehend the dreadful breadth of such a reality: beloved relatives passing onward into a Christless eternity. There are truths which the mind may confess doctrinally, yet when Providence sets them so near as of one’s own household, they strike the heart with altogether different force. when the Lord Jesus is reve...

Lolomboy, Bulacan

Journal Entry. Evening. 30th of October. 2023 Rescue those who are being taken away to death; hold back those who are stumbling to the slaughter. If you say, “Behold, we did not know this,” does not he who weighs the heart perceive it? Does not he who keeps watch over your soul know it, and will he not repay man according to his work? Proverbs 24:11 In the pitch of night, a great ship upon the ocean did begin to sink. With an innumerable number of souls on board, and in less time than it takes to tell it, all manner of people—from strongest man to smallest child—were cast into the darkness, flailing helplessly in the freezing waters.  Amidst the fearful screaming, the ship's crew did launch their boats. One sailor, taking charge of a single lifeboat, spent a full thirty minutes pulling the drowning from the waves, one by one, with all the strength he possessed. As this poor sailor strained every muscle for the lives still in peril, those who were already safe in the boat did simply...

In Sickness and In Health

My wife and daughter are sick today, but in spite of this the work in the LORD's vineyard continues.

Fresh Supplies

Since the early days of this small ministry, Father has faithfully provided for His work without fail. We have been waiting for months for an answer for provisions for new tracts and bibles and He has finally delivered.  Help came in from two of our fellow saints and dear children from Taiwan, Wilma and Mark , both dear children and spiritual offspring of our brother Blaine and sister Ingrid , (Mark's dear wife, Vea, traveled the distance from Pangasinan and fetching the stash of bibles from Baguio to bring it here to Bulacan) - and from our beloved brethren in Christian Word Center in Cavite City, headed by the Lord's faithful pastor, L.A. Cruz , who in behalf of the church sent us a box of new bibles to give away. His church hosts a weekly feeding and gospel ministry to a great number of poor people held inside a cemetery, and goes out to proclaim the gospel to the masses in the parks. And now they have looked graciously upon us for the help we need. Truly, a fellowship wor...

The Coming War

Image
Was assisted with power and boldness today, the LORD magnifying his Spirit through my barrenness. There were two unexpected interactions that came this day, one from a cultist braggart who was inviting my daughters to connect with their church and teaching which was clearly the run of the mill prophetic carnival that infests this superstitious country of ours. The other was from a simple soul who received a tract earlier but lingered close to us, waiting to inquire of us if the third temple will be constructed in the end times. I told him it is already up. That the youth in Israel are already being trained in the old ways of animal sacrifice, and proceeded to confess to him the futility and fatality of a curiosity apart from the saving power of Christ. After presenting the law and the gospel to him and leaving him with a bible I took the wife and children to a nearby carinderia by the street for some cheap but full dinner.

Eternal Investments

We consider the plight of young Russell, a soul barely arrived at the age of fifteen years, and the eighth of ten children born to his parents—his heart already burdened by the recent loss of his seventh sibling. The circumstances of his dwelling are a solemn matter for reflection: their humble, cramped shelter is shared not only by his numerous brethren and his mother but also by his eldest brother and his nascent family. Worse, the very head of this household, his father, is alas, given over to the deplorable affliction of the drink, placing a heavy burden upon them all. This young boy, in the face of such adversity, labors diligently, performing the menial task of assisting travelers with their groceries to the public tricycles. For this honest toil, he gathers a meager stipend of three dollars each day. Upon observing his commendable industry, I offered a solemn encouragement, recalling a time in my own life's trial when I had only secured three dollars for an entire week's...

I will get back to writing as soon as I possibly can. It was quite the roller coaster ride this month both here and with our sister church in Taiwan. But the work continues under our King's grace till He returns.

The Last Batch

Image
Our new batch of tracts came in this morning, Wednesday. We had it made last Saturday and it usually takes 10 days before it arrives. I asked Father if we could have it by Thursday, in time for Friday ministry use. It took only 4 days this time. A day ahead of my asking. God never fails me. Our printer in Bacoor, Cavite, Dynaspan printing, prioritized us the way they always did.  Dynaspan Printing is a family-owned business ran by Mr. Willy Pardilla and his wife. They are good people. When I say good you get it to mean they are decent and dependable in business transactions. Although they are strict Catholics with weekly rosary devotions, still they accommodated our need and delivered quality work every time. They have been our printer since October of 2018, printing close to ten thousand tracts for us. Sometimes even giving us 200 pieces over for free. I have have been praying since then that the Lord would at least be pleased to use the tract to testify of the gospel to everyone ...

The Supremacy of Christ

Image
We launch into an extensive series study on the letter to the Hebrews. This endeavor might take us 6 months or so to complete but already session 1 and 2 has yielded a vast treasure trove of knowledge for me, the LORD further expanding my horizons in awe of Him. I cannot get over, and thoroughly enjoyed reflecting on the fact that Jesus, after finishing the work on the cross, sat down. ..when he had by himself purged our sins, sat down on the right hand of the Majesty on high. Hebrews 1:3 It struck me to realize there were no seats for the priests who offered sacrifices day in day out in the tabernacle in the wilderness. That was because there was a continuous need to sacrifice daily, first, for the personal sins of each individual priest (7:27) and only then can they sacrifice for each citizen who brought in a sin offering. The sheer work and number of cattle to be sacrificed every single day seemed endless, as the commission of sin was endless, hence they had no time to rest and s...

Neglect And Omissions

Image
Those great preachers, whose names we remember, were men who counted nothing their own. They were driven out from their benefices, because they could not conform to the Established Church, and they gave up all they had willingly to the Lord. They were hunted from place to place ... they wandered here and there to preach the gospel to a few poor sheep, being fully given up to their Lord. Those were foul times; but they promised they would walk the road fair or foul, and they did walk it knee-deep in mud; and they would have walked it if it had been knee-deep in blood too.  ~ Charles Spurgeon How many of the dear children of God are crying for bread ? (for the powerful preaching of the word amongst them) and there is no bread to be given them, nor the pleasant voice of their faithful ministers to be heard amongst them ; and they are left to lament over their silenced ministers, as King Joash wept over the dying prophet, 2 Kings 13. 14 . "O my father, my father, the chariot of Israe...

Providence In The Rain

Image
This afternoon's heavy downpour would have been good enough reason not to go out, but it opened an opportunity  for mother and daughter, together with Neil, to take the gospel deep inside the unreached areas of the markets of Santa Maria. For the people here who literally sit in darkness, the light of Christ has shone upon them. Those who desire for the return of Christ should be found laboring earnestly for it. It is quite easy to excuse oneself and refrain from obeying the great commission, but more than a hundred and fifty souls would not have had the chance to read the gospel today had the flesh had its way. Looking back at all the tracts distributed within the short four years Father has gifted us, I shudder at all the lost opportunities, what could have been, had He left us languishing as simple church attendees.  I prayed for the LORD to give our laborers joy in their toil today, and Father was well pleased to grant just that in the fellowship that followed ...
