The Kingdom Of God Belong To Such As These

Image
We have been waiting on the LORD since being sovereignly placed in this location the very first month of year 2000. Wondering yet as to how we can lift up Christ with no resources or support, save for God's faithfulness. Since starting with our nightly bible study series He has been pleased to bless His work not only with souls but more importantly with the right direction as to how to worship Him in Spirit and in Truth. For us it is of no importance to start a work for Christ, if it be not according to His prescription. From the lesson of Nadab and Nabihu, God has clearly revealed how He is to be worshipped.  We would not have learned about the beautiful practice of elevated reverence for scripture and its proper place in sacred worship if Father had not sovereignly taken us from our previous denominations. Furthermore, it is evident from His placing us on the route of scriptural worship that He takes great care to ensure that we have a lamp at our feet and a light at our path. Ev...

Provisions For The Children

Image
Father has provided us the means to purchase bibles in our pursuit of putting His word in the hands of the children, to be distributed freely, and teach them the habit of opening the scriptures, not just listening to it read to them. To familiarize them with stories from both testaments and show how Christ is pointed at in the old, and fulfilled in the new, and that He can be seen in every story; how Christ is "written in the volume of the book," and inculcate the truths of God by way of catechism questions and answers. The end of every class is great encouragement to us in this work. Each one can recite the 10 commandments at will, but it will require God's grace to give it life in them, to be understood, and eventually lived out. This we thank God for and plead His hand.

This Afternoon

It was of the LORD's providence that my dear wife could not be with us today for ministry after suffering a fall at home which left her incapacitated for two days, this being the third. We have learned to praise God in every instance most especially in unfavorable incidents believing that it is through trials and temptations that our graces are enlarged and strengthened, as crosses become more glorious when Father sovereignly adds greater weight, if only to show us His mighty hand at work. If grace is a mighty gift from heaven, temptations are also as precious gifts that grow our graces. It is the greatest of all glories to glory in the LORD. The grace that is tried is that faith that comes out as gold. If I were to rejoice if much gold were to be given me, then I should rejoice to have much affliction to try my graces.

Fresh Supplies

Since the early days of this small ministry, Father has faithfully provided for His work without fail. We have been waiting for months for an answer for provisions for new tracts and bibles and He has finally delivered.  Help came in from two of our fellow saints and dear children from Taiwan, Wilma and Mark , both dear children and spiritual offspring of our brother Blaine and sister Ingrid , (Mark's dear wife, Vea, traveled the distance from Pangasinan and fetching the stash of bibles from Baguio to bring it here to Bulacan) - and from our beloved brethren in Christian Word Center in Cavite City, headed by the Lord's faithful pastor, L.A. Cruz , who in behalf of the church sent us a box of new bibles to give away. His church hosts a weekly feeding and gospel ministry to a great number of poor people held inside a cemetery, and goes out to proclaim the gospel to the masses in the parks. And now they have looked graciously upon us for the help we need. Truly, a fellowship wor...

Eternal Investments

Russell is 15. He is the 8th of 10 siblings, of which the 7th died. His mom stays at home and his father is an alcoholic. His eldest brother has his own family and is still sharing their small house with all of them. He earns $3 a day helping people carry their groceries from the cart to the public transports. I told him there was a time that I was earning $3 a week so he actually earns more money that I did. Felix on the other hand is just over 10. I watched him as he was playfully tearing up the tract he managed to get hold of to turn it into a paper plane. They were sitting a good distance from me as I waited outside the grocery for Tina, praying that the LORD would lead a soul to me, and I noticed Russell making tops out of soda caps. I motioned to him and asked if I can join, so he came over and sat beside me, and we started talking about his day job, eventually steering the conversation to Jesus. Talking with children for me is very refreshing. It is a time when I can let my guar...

New Bibles

Image
The dear wife of a precious son and brother in Taiwan visited us to fellowship and join us this Sunday all the way from Pangasinan (140 kms). Along with her came these pleasant gifts from the LORD. We have been waiting to acquire these for quite a long while now since stocks of our previous bible titles have gone out of print. This particular version costs twice, but the LORD has always provided for the work and continues to do so. Hopefully we can purchase these regularly from the current source from now on.

Gifts To The Church

Image
Father continues to provide for His work. This time by sending help from overseas. God used a brother in the United States to provide the little lambs with new bibles. Since they are new to the faith, they were using whatever they had at home. But now these new accountabilities. May the LORD use these to cause them to be fruitful and glorify. My own bible has had its share of battles. After 13 years of use it was time I acquired my own Tagalog version. The King James is still my go to text. But having a translation in my native language opens up the scriptures in a new light, provided I compare its context with the KJV and two concordance, with which I use Strong's and Vine's.

Eleven Years

Image
This priceless book was given to me by my beloved wife by the end of 2009. It has been raised countless times both inside our home and on the street. It has lots of notes pressed between specific passages. I thought it to be wise to preserve it while it is still (barely) in one piece, as it has already begun to fall apart. I remember coming home from my Samar trip thinking I had left it somewhere and had lost it, but when I did find it stashed at the bottom of my pack, I tightly embraced it and cried uncontrollably in gratitude that I still had it. The new bible that came is not the pure Cambridge version. It has two errors, but nothing that a quick write over cannot fix. I sorely miss my original 1611 with the dedicatory page and the translator's preface. I imagine this precious object outliving my days on earth, and perhaps being raised again by my children, or my children's children, in God's providence and due time.

Encouragements

I had an errand earlier than we were supposed to go out this afternoon so I went ahead to Sta. Maria and did what I needed to do, after which I went straight to my fishing hole and this small lady was there begging alms. I welcomed this perfect opportunity to have a conversation with a soul. There is a love in me for speaking with these gentle folk that I find it more refreshing to talk patiently with them and listen to their stories. Nanay Yolly is a professing Roman Catholic slash Buddhist who is not quite sure why she believes what she believes. She claims to have studied most religions, yet could not tell who Christ is for her, other than He is God's Son. Presenting the law to her was not easy as she tried justifying her "sinning less than others" until God's wisdom found its way with one sin that she admitted to. Finally towards the end she listened intently as realization set in. The gravity of the law was laid upon her, and found her out for the rebel that she ...

MuƱoz, Quezon City From 2019

Image
This is a video from a year ago. Congressional Avenue going to Project 8 was my old high school route. This has always been a very busy intersection ever since and I have wanted to stand here with the gospel for the longest time. We drove all the way from Bulacan that night and crossed the highway walking to this spot. The LORD blessed our plea by stranding the waiting commuters for the whole of the preaching. No public utility vehicles came inside the terminal. And as if that wasn't awesome enough, right after we were done, the cabs came in droves, and cleared the line of people fast. The owners tried time and again to make us leave by sending their security. The sound was resonating all around inside the establishment and they thought it was bothering the folks who having dinner inside. It was not really a problem for us, we wouldn't want to get these gentlemen in a bind with their agency and take the heat for us. Although we stood our ground and finished our delivery. May F...

Unfit

I waited on the LORD last night as to where I should stand today. The 530 alarm went off but I turned it off. Woke up late 7AM, and did not feel like going out to proclaim Christ even in the morning. I left the house without doing my devotions, riding towards Malibong only to turn back at a road block, and headed out to the direction of Wakas, Bocaue. Riding aimlessly, I passed the public market, and was about to go up the interchange, when without thinking I suddenly stopped to the side of the road. I had a strong impression to go back. "That market?" I asked in my mind. No answer. I have learned never to ask twice. If I do,  it's because I don't want to. So I clicked the left signal, "If you say so,"  and made a u-turn, going inside the wet market section.  Had to pick a spot behind the main road so as not to block the public and become an annoyance. The place was packed. There was no security and everything was as if there were no restrictions. We are no...

God Multiplies

Image
Two days after our first outreach the LORD moved three dear fellow believers in the U.S. to send us help. In a touching gesture of kindness insisting that we prioritize purchasing the medication we need, and the rest, we were free to use as we please. Such a timely gift, as medicine for our son's epilepsy, was down to the last few tablets. God made sure we were enabled to buy two week's worth of medication. And finally, to accomplish our original plan to include some mothers in our church in the giveaways. But the very next day our local government distributed relief goods to the entire community (it does not include our area) , which were more expensive than the meager items we planned to give. We admit having been disheartened when we saw how simple our packages were compared to what they received. And so we opted to give only on a per need basis to our neighbors instead since the people on our side of the wall do not enjoy the same privileges as those who are regist...

Send Off

These free bibles are going to Negros Occidental as a request from a dear sister who received a burden from the Lord towards the spread of the gospel. The Lord has faithfully provided for both our family's needs and the ministry's needs for over a year now despite having no regular paycheck or sponsors. We are resolved never to ask, solicit, or let any person know about our lack, and make our requests known only to God. We are seeking His glory not in the answers that come but in seeing His mighty hand at work in each instance, so we might declare to all that the Lord answers whatever is asked for the lifting up of His name. He never fails. We also had the privilege to encourage another dear sister who visited us to start giving out the gospel to people on her own, so we gave her some tracts. By God's grace she took our plea as good advice and went out to do so. This particular sister loves the Lord dearly and has often facesd resistance from her family but she ...
