The Neglect of The Third Person

I was in my teen years when long-distance phone calls were an exciting thing. I can still remember the sound of the operator asking if we wished to receive the call. When I was already working there was also a communication  loophole that circulated that enabled you to use the presidential hotline to make calls to anywhere in the world unlimited for free. And sometime after that I imagined that in the near future we wouldn't be just talking to people and  hearing them, but also seeing them at the same time. Way before pagers came into existence.

Virtual meetings became the necessary norm since last year. Communications have come a long way since, and I believe God has ordained this in a way to 'speed things up'. Taking advantage of the skills that has been entrusted to me in the field of visual media, the LORD gained for Himself souls this way, whom He has led to me, and thus enabled me to watch over and care for. Our small daily bible class has grown in the short three weeks we have had it. One soul joining us virtually from the US, one from Bicol, and another from Bulacan. We are taking our time studying the very foundation of our salvation. To know God, to know Christ the brightness of His glory, and to know the Holy Spirit's work and office in the preservation of God's elect. To better equip the saints in reading, meditating, and living the word.  To answering the world's questions by way of proper understanding, not simply with memorization, but with conviction.

The momentary freedom we have with the gospel in this nation presents two sides: 1. It is a tremendous blessing to enjoy holding these types of gatherings unrestricted. 2. It is an indictment against the timidity of professing Christians who do not take advantage of it.

Currently our Christendom boasts of a population in the millions, but only a small part actually engaged in the war for souls. It is humbling to realize that the number that turned the world upside-down in the New Testament church was less than the population of any modern day mega church. If only every believer made the glory God's name to be known by nations the sole objective of their lives..
