The Father of the fatherless

Father doth bless the work by turning the ministry of the Children’s Church in a more experiential direction: seeking to implant in the little ones a consciousness of the deep, humbling reality of the heart’s corruption, even in their tender years. We are forced, hourly, to acknowledge that we are totally inadequate to communicate the glorious salvation of Christ with the requisite power, and thus we know that our strength and help cometh from the LORD alone!

We grieve to report that the cruel affliction of molested children is lamentably common in this locality—a silent plague where, tragically, the parents and immediate relatives are often found to be the heinous offenders. With fear and trembling, we taught the children that their innocent bodies were a gift bestowed by the Lord to be theirs alone, and that no other person, save their own mothers in needful instances, should touch or gaze upon them in parts that ought to be private. They were given solemn warnings to be keenly aware when any person begins to touch them where they should not be touched, and instructed to adorn themselves in modest attire that covers a goodly portion of their small frames.

May the Spirit bring forth in these little ones a tender conscience and a strong refuge in their heavenly Father!

One item in our monthly prayer and fasting includes the bringing out of many secret sins, in the children, and in the churches. It is of great comfort to us that our brethren from Lubbock, Texas and New Mexico are lifting us up daily in their prayers.

One student told us, "I noticed the stories in the Old Testament are like pictures of Christ in the New Testament." God be praised for revealing this truth to babes.

We know and profess that God hath a special, tender place in His divine heart for all neglected children, for the sacred text doth reveal Him as the very Father of the fatherless! This profound truth is known to this servant not merely by doctrine, but by personal experience, and is likewise testified to in the lives of my own children.

May the LORD, therefore, grant us a deep and wise insight into the very hearts of these little ones! May we be guided to utter the right words so that we may faithfully recount to them His mighty works, and fully convey His great, boundless love—a love that stands immutable, in spite of the cruel and grievous realities they are made to witness in their frail, mortal lives.
