While There Is Time

John 9:4
I must work the works of him that sent me, while it is day: the night comes, when no man can work.

We have been led by the Spirit to focus our biblical studies upon instilling the grave seriousness of the Gospel deep within the very mindset of our class, urgently encouraging every soul toward actual and experiential application in the world where Christ is not known. Our aim is not for spur-of-the-moment outreaches, born merely of a craving for human applause—like vapors that preach with fervor today and are silent on the morrow. Nay, our charge is to cultivate a life worthy of godly recommendation from the very Heavens!

We must be doers of the Word, and not simply hearers; we must strive to obey in truth, not simply to affirm with the lips; we must stand in utter separation from all dead religion. And if the call be upon us, let us be prepared to offer our very lives literally as sacrifices upon the altar for Christ's great and glorious cause.

Let this be our daily discipline: to remain perpetually amazed and awed at the wondrous grace and salvation wrought by our God. We must remember that the gracious opportunity to labor within the Lord's vineyard will not always remain open at our own temporal discretion. To despise this blessed opportunity, even for a moment, is nothing less than to take God Himself in vain.

Psalm 71:16-18
With the mighty deeds of the Lord GOD I will come; I will remind them of your righteousness, yours alone. O God, from my youth you have taught me, and I still proclaim your wondrous deeds. So even to old age and gray hairs, O God, do not forsake me, until I proclaim your might to another generation, your power to all those to come.
