Keeping With Technology

I have had the good pleasure of talking tech with my visiting brother from Romania and I was pleased to know that we both share the same passion for pushing the quality of presenting the work of the gospel by making good use of the technology we have in our present day and age. While it is true that the children of this world are in their generation wiser than the children of light (Luke 16:8), those of us who have been given the talent to keep pace with the times, whether we eat or we drink, are obliged to utilize everything we have for the glory of the kingdom of God.

Though we did not have the opportunity to use his Zhiyun Crane 2 gimbal, of which I am thankful because you need to have seriously strong arms to be able to hold this up for quite some time, I had some really good fun setting it up. I wished to have used it for the December 8 event, but since it was really expensive and the crowd was unpredictable, it was a wise decision not to bring it.

These are all but tools and not fancies. Each serve a specific purpose in creating a presentable piece that compliments the gospel that is being presented. If people are adept at using technology for whatever temporal interest they have, we are privileged to use the same for the coming kingdom. We need not settle for low quality media while the secular world enjoys the benefits of modern technology.

These items are all usable with the simple smart phone. I made it so as not to spend with costly camera equipment and lenses. Except for the Moondog Labs 1.33 anamorphic lens, I conveniently ordered everything off Lazada. The price to function ratio is very favorable, and the output is at par with its more expensive counterparts. From the DJI Osmo 2 Gimbal, the Beastgrip replica with the 37mm .45x wide lens, the Boya MM1 Omni directional microphone, to the Zoom H1n audio recorder, all our requirements for both visual and audio are covered. The Lord is gracious indeed.

To those who are not aware, I finally left the corporate world last September, and was given the grace to trust solely on the Lord for his provisions, in obedience to the Lord's bidding. My two year long delay was the very reason that the Lord's hand was held back. But now, we have been enabled to accomplish far more that what we could when I still had a paycheck. We were also enabled to humbly assist the saints, something we previously were barely able to do. We have no monthly pledges or sponsors, we do not make our needs known, and in this way the Lord in turn provides faithfully on a per need basis.

There is much to tell about how the Lord moved in answer to my leaving monthly security and trusting solely on the Lord. Much that is reserved to be revealed by the Lord Himself on that great day. I leave it to the Lord to boast of whatever He wills of us to the Father then, but for now we will boast that we know the Lord, and magnify the saving power of His blood with what He has entrusted to us at this time.
